Shine Productions Hire combines the force from the creativity and technical expertise from our production teams, built from Shine Theatre. Founded with the goal of delivering high-end production experiences to the theatre industry, we combine artistic vision with industry-standard production solutions.
With over 20 years of experience, our dedicated production and creative teams infuse each project with their unique creative vision, ensuring professional and memorable results.

We begin by working closely with you to understand your vision, venue, and technical requirements. Drawing on our theatre experience, we offer practical advice, design support, and tailored equipment packages that suit both the creative ambition and the realities of the production.
MEET THE TEAM
Dylan McLean
Technical Manager & Director
Dylan founded Shine Productions Hire Ltd as a production hire company. Dylan studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where he gained a BA in Production Technology and Management, specialising in Lighting Design. He manages the daily operations of the business, bringing together creativity, technical precision, practical production knowledge.
With a strong understanding of both the artistic and logistical demands of live performance, Dylan is experienced in delivering designs that are visually impactful while remaining efficient, adaptable, and technically robust.
Gordon Beck
Designer
In 2003, Gordon Beck launched Shine as a youth theatre, with the vision of establishing an intergenerational arts community to inspire and uplift children and young people and provide a creative space for parents and adult volunteers. Throughout the years, Shine grew and expanded its reach to welcome new members and volunteers throughout the organisation.
Gordon brings a distinctive creative vision and a deep understanding of theatrical storytelling to every production. With a strong background in set design and visual direction, Gordon plays a key role in shaping the artistic identity of the productions we support.
Gordon Shaw
Sound Technician
Gordon brings a wealth of technical knowledge and a practical, detail-focused approach to every production. With a strong background in live theatre and events, Gordon ensures that sound design and reinforcement are clear, balanced, and fully supportive of the performance on stage.
Committed to high standards and consistent results, he plays a key role in delivering professional audio experiences that enhance storytelling and audience engagement.
Phil Butcher
Lighting Technician
With extensive experience in theatre and live events, Phil works on the planning, setup, and delivery of lighting systems, ensuring every production is technically robust, safe, and performance-ready.
